Summer Worksheet Updates

by Dad on Worksheets

Here’s a few quick worksheet updates to keep young math magicians busy!

The multiple digit multiplication worksheets have been updated to not include any problems where a multiplicand is one. We’ve been hitting multiple-digit multiplication pretty hard over the summer. It’s great review for the basic multiplication facts and keeps the mechanics of the multi-digit process fresh for when school starts back up. However, the 1xN digit worksheets, there was a 11% probability that a problem would have a ‘1′ in it. I’m hoping my daughter won’t notice that these “gimme” problems are gone now…

Not wanting to neglect the division operator, the recent updates include responses to a few recent user requests for more specific division series problems. You can now find division problems for doubles plus one as well as progressive division facts for small remainders in two new series of worksheets.

I hope your summer vacations are all going well!

  1. I need to catch up on your site here. I home school my kids, but I’m pretty terrible at math. I’ve been clicking through your worksheets (saw the division one but my kids aren’t there yet). Anyway, we’re going to start multiplication soon so I’m glad I was reminded of you. Thanks.

  2. Thanks for coming back, Keith!

We definitely have you covered for multiplication, but if you think of anything else that might be useful let me know.

I’m going to be perfectly honest about the long division… I was a little scared. I remember hating long division in school, and I wasn’t confident about introducing it here without creating the same impression. Fortunately, our daughter’s third grade teacher gave her the basic procedure, and from there it was just practice and reinforcement at home. Having the basic division facts memorized helped a lot, so don’t skimp on those… I’ve added several new series of division facts to come about that from different directions, and hope to post some really long long division worksheets soon…
