Recently I was introduced to MathStarters.net, a great online resource with a variety of interactive math activities you can use at the start of math class. The site includes several activities that are perfect for use on SmartBoards or whiteboard projectors.
There are some great tools for rolling dice, counting results, quizzing students' skills using a number of the day and more.
The site is free for most activities, but if you have an interest in using tools like a random student selector there’s a reasonable annual fee to unlock additional resources.
If you’re working with a bunch of kids (or maybe just handful) in front of a computer, MathsStarters.net can be a fun way to kick off your math lessons!
