Volume is the amount of three dimensional space taken up by a solid. Volume is therefore measured in cubic units, such as cubic centimeters, cubic meters or cubic millimeters. Converting volume from one unit to another means you must use a conversion factor that takes into account all three dimensions occupied by the solid shape. For example, a cubic meter has three sides, each side measuring 100 centimeters. By multiplying all three sides of the solid (100x100x100) we can calculate that a cubic meter contains 1,000,000 cubic centimeters. These metric conversion worksheets deal with volume unit conversions, including cubic centimeters to cubic meters, cubic millimeters to cubic centimeters and other similar practice problems.
